Introduction to Virtual Reality – Prototyping Week @SUND Hub

vrNovember 19th and 20th we are hosting two open courses in prototyping at SUND Hub. All facilitators will have experience within the healthcare sector, but the sessions are open to anyone interested in learning how to develop a prototype.

Virtual Reality prototyping w. Simon Bruntse Andersen and Steen Vejen Petersen, SyncSense.io

In this session, you will get an introduction to developing Virtual Reality (VR) prototypes using SUND Hubs’ standard equipment: GoPro Fusion 360˚ camera and the Oculus Quest VR Headset. In this session you will learn to record your first static VR movies and play them – either via the Oculus Quest headset or via Youtube. Furthermore, you will get a quick introduction to the world of “Unity” – the leading platform for interactive development.

About Simon and Steen:
Founders of SyncSense.io – a SUND Hub based start-up developing a VR platform to support the treatment of in-patients and elderly citizens who have diseases that hinder their physical and social activity level. SYNCSENSE was founded in 2018 as a spin-out from a research start-up in health informatics.

What is a prototype and why do you need it – a general introduction to prototyping w. Peter Løvschall
The session will start with a general introduction to prototyping including understanding how new ideas are developed using prototypes as an early sample, model, or release of a product built to test a concept or process. Ideally, a prototype is used to initiate a dialogue with the indented users with objective: to provide you with early and inexpensive feedback in the process of validating the viability of your innovation and in the end: to avoid wrong assumptions in the development process.

These sessions have been designed for you with curiosity to the prototyping process as well as you with a need of concrete input to how to start developing an idea. All facilitators have insight and knowledge within the healthcare sector, but the methods and tools can be applied to ideas within all sectors.
